Eladea stands in the town square, taking in the air.

—Eladea—
Ahh... another blessed day on our sacred island.
On this day, as on all days, I thank the Goddess for her grace in granting us this bountiful land to dwell upon.

She greets Helen, who is passing by, carrying a sack.

—Eladea—
Good day, Helen! May the Goddess guide you!

—Helen—
Hmph. Sure.

She greets Polyta, who is approaching her.

—Eladea—
Good day, Polyta! I should hope your patrols went well?

—Polyta—
Yes, well...
I did encounter something unusual this morning.

—Eladea—
Oh?

—Polyta—
I was scouting out by the mountain, when I saw what appeared to be two monsters lurking near the palms.
There was a particularly fluffy kobold, and some kind of... woman-serpent.

—Eladea—
That is unusual.

—Polyta—
Indeed... I headed back here to gather our allies and fortify our defenses. It did not seem wise to confront them on my own, before we knew if they were friend... or foe.
We should prepare ourselves. It might not be long before interlopers reach town.

Sunny
* Oh, ya mean like us?

Polyta jolts in surprise!

—Polyta—
WH--

Sunny and Jasper are standing right behind her. Jasper has a new outfit, now-- an ankle-length skirt, short-sleeved top, and a cute little bow on the front.

Jasper
* Hiiiiiii!!!
* Sorry we startled you!

Sunny
* I'm not.
* Love the cape, by the way.

—Polyta—
What the-- who-- who are you!?

Jasper
* Ahaha, you knowww!
* We're just a pair of mystical travellers, from across the veil!

Sunny
* Totally unarmed, Don't worry.
* It's just us and our winning personalities.

Jasper
* We travel between worlds, seeking the knowledge of the universe, and bringing a message of peace for all whom we encounter~!

—Polyta—
Ah-- I see. And your names?

Sunny
* Call me Sunny, ay?

Jasper
* And I'm, um-- my name is--!

Coral
* Coral!
* Coral Mundy. A pleasure to make your acquaintance!

Polyta visibly eases up. She, Eladea, Sunny and Coral begin to chat.

—Polyta—
Ah... greetings, Coral. And you too, Sunny.
My name is Polyta. I am the Knight of Hollidae, responsible for the protection of our home and her inhabitants.
And this here is Eladea, Chief Acolyte of the Love Goddess.

—Eladea—
May the Goddess guide you.

—Polyta—
I must apologise for the unwelcome reception, things have been tense ever since the last attack.
Or. I've been tense, at least. Sometimes it can feel like I'm the only one who... anyway.
What brings you two here, of all places?

Coral
* Ah! You see, we're searching for my father, who's recently gone missing.

Sunny
* Her Dad's a ghost by the way.

Coral
* Yeah he's a ghost.
* And we found some indications that he may have come this way!
* We'd hate to intrude, but...
* Would it be too much trouble if we just had a look around?

Polyta and Eladea mull the conundrum over. In the background, Casandra, who is passing by carrying some boxes, notices the commotion. Her eyes bug out of her head.

—Polyta—
What do you think, Eladea?

—Eladea—
...Normally, only those specifically invited by the Goddess would make landfall at Hollidae.

—Polyta—
They ARE here to find her father.

—Eladea—
This is true... the Goddess would never wish us to obstruct a cause driven by Love.

—Polyta—
And... it might be nice to talk with some outsiders for a change...

Casandra butts in awkwardly!

—Casandra—
I don't know guys I'm uh getting a bad vibe off of these two

—Polyta—
Casandra??

Sunny
* Scuse me?

—Casandra—
Like, sure, I get they're acting friendly, and they got a pretty sweet fashion sense, but maybe we should err on the safe side here, huh?
What if they're, infiltrators for Proteus or something? Or maybe they got a grudge against us!

—Eladea—
A grudge? For what?

—Casandra—
Maybe it's like, and this is y'know, just maybe, but maybe they think one of us has... wronged them, somehow(?) -- I wouldn't even know why -- and they've come to this island to, y'know, get their revenge as soon as I let my guard down.

Coral and Sunny smile a little too hard, bristling with a barely constrained are-you-fucking-kidding-me rage.

Sunny
* That's a very. Particular. Hypothetical you've got there.

Coral
* I'm sure this is just a biiig misunderstanding.
* I don't see a reason why we can't just talk this out, hey?
* Just a friendly, little...
